China's de facto control of Gilgit-Baltistan cited as global threat

A Washington-based think-tank has testified at a US Congressional hearing that the Chinese had assumed a de-facto control of the Gilgit-Baltistan region near India’s Ladakh in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and that it would end up like Tibet and East Turkestan if China's unwarranted interventions there were left unchallenged, reported PTI news service Nov 10.
