Here then is my "Altar of the Elements" which contains 12 visible gold pentagrams and 4 hidden pentagrams (the hidden ones were hand-drawn on the surfaces between the 4 layers of the base), for a total of 16 pentagrams -- the number of sub-Elements. The 12 visible ones represent the Four Elements in the three temporal realms (mental, astral and physical), while the 4 hidden ones represent the Elements in the Eternal realm of the Akasha. Each pentagram of course, individually represents the four Elements, plus the Akasha.
The form of this Altar is half of an Icosidodecahedron, set atop a pedestal of four pentagonal steps. An Icosidodecahedron is a merging of an Icosahedron (20 triangular faces) and a Dodecahedron (12 pentagonal faces) for a total of 32 faces. So half of an Icosidodecahedron has 16 faces -- again the number of sub-Elements.![]()
Within the interior cup of the Altar are 7 gold pentagrams set on a black background which represent the 7 Planetary Forces manifesting through the Elements. Externally, there are 5 gold pentagrams (each set on a purple pentagon and separated by black triangles) which represent the four pristine Elements and the Akasha.
This Altar of the Elements would make a nice addition to any ritual/magical space! As the two lower photos illustrate, the Altar can be used to display a ritual crystal, a stone, an iconic figurine, or whatever else has significance for you personally. [Please note that the Altar does not come with a crystal or stone, etc. That's your part to add!
